Glamour Farming

Raised beds – glam version

Yes, glarming is a thing. And to be clear it’s not a slam on traditional, unglamorous farming. Those folks work hard to feed the rest of us and rarely have time to decorate the cow barn. Glamour farming freely and openly acknowledges that there is another source of income and that to live the rural life in high style is well, a luxury.

But a fun one! Pretty things bring me pleasure which is why my raised beds are now orchid and have finials on the corners – total cost about $80 more than if they were unpainted and without finials (and that’s for 14 corners on 3 beds). They make me smile every time I walk out the door and that’s priceless.

If you’re of a like mind, where could you (or have you) spiced up otherwise ordinary outdoor paraphanelia? A little bling on the garbage can, maybe? Grandma’s chandelier now in the chicken coop? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments…
